I am a freelance photojournalist with a special interest in news, portraiture, and sports. I am originally from Ottawa and work mainly in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
My interest in photography lies mainly as a tool to tell stories. My academic and professional background is in historical research and writing with a special emphasis on spatial analysis. My interest in history and archives has fueled my interest in documenting today's meaningful stories.
Photography has kept me inspired to create photos that immerse the viewer in the same ways that I have been able to travel the world through other photographers work. I am driven by the news and human stories that document the beauty and horrors of the world.
My goal with my images is to tell stories that allow people to think, but most importantly feel. Images have the incredible power of evoking emotion in a split second, I strive to harness that special visual quality to tell the untold stories and share other peoples worlds.
When not taking pictures you can find me on a bike, working on a bike, or somewhere outside imagining what great pictures I could have been taking.
